-10/2016 to 6/2017- Family Leave. diagnosed with medullary carcinoma of the thyroid, completed surgery for self and son (genetic carrier), then changed from full time clinical practice to medical benefits management.
-10/2008 to 8/2016: Hematologist/Oncologist /Internist for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Bethesda MD- treated all hematology and oncology disorders in the outpatient and inpatient services for military and dependents; position included teaching IM Residents and Heme/Onc Fellows. Administrative reviewer for department consultation. Tumor Board presenter. Well verses in invasive and non invasive procedures, palliative and diagnostic or therapeutic. Comprehensive medical management working both independently and with multidisciplinary subspecialists. Noted for highest RVU’s in department and elected “civilian teaching attending of year 2013”. Treat all solid tumors with special interest in breast, GI, GU and MDS/MPD, and sarcoma. -Expert consultant with to linkage of Non Hogkin’s Lymphoma to Camp Legune Contaminated water. Veteran who was denied service coverage was granted service coverage based on my research. Legal case presented to the US Government Veteran Affairs Committee. 2020-2023
-Developed and passed IRB protocol during fellowship studying Multiple Myeloma, reviewed archived bone marrows over 10 years from patients with MM and applied FISH techniques looking for cytogenetic abnormalities and correlation to survival and disease behavior, ongoing study which now routinely evaluates cytogenetics in Multiple Myeloma
