Eagle Edition
This is a very important Eagle Edition with lots of information about upcoming changes to transportation, dismissal arrival patterns and building construction.
Road closure
Truckee Meadows Water Authority TMWA will be replacing water main pipes on Yori Avenue. Yori Avenue will be closed to all southbound traffic once construction starts. You will not be able to drive south on Yori. This will last for approximately 4-6 weeks.
Starting with dismissal at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 20, all Vaughn field gates opening to Yori Avenue will be closed due to this construction. These gates would have been closed in August 2024 anyway, for our own new building construction.
After water mains are replaced, the city plans to reconstruct the entire roadbed on Yori. Roadbed reconstruction will start in April and last until October. So, our Yori gates are closing on Tuesday and will remain closed until our new building is finished.
ALL YORI GATES WILL BE CLOSED TO ARRIVING AND EXITING STUDENTS STARTING AT DISMISSAL ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, DUE TO CONSTRUCTION.
**Please do not drop students off on Yori for access to Vaughn MS. Use Bresson Avenue.
This will greatly increase vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Bresson Avenue.
**Please slowdown in our school zone.
**Please direct students to use crosswalks.
**Parking lots are for school bus pick-up, drop-off, and staff parking only.
**Reminder: U-turns in a school zone are illegal.
**Red curbs indicate NO parking and no idling while you wait for students. Cars parked in the red zone block visibility for students using the crosswalk.
New Bus Routes & Reduced Walk Zones
Please check Infinite Campus or call the school office for support. Students living between 2 and 2.25 miles from school are now eligible for transportation. Bus routes have been assigned. This has impacted some other students’ bus schedules. Please check Infinite Campus for updated bus route information. Call the school if you have additional questions.
March 11 – most Vaughn students will attend a field trip on March 11 to the Discovery Museum. Permission slips will be sent home soon.
