•Assessed patients, performed and recorded patient history and physical exam findings, developed differential diagnoses, ordered laboratory, radiology and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient’s complaint, utilized clinical data to make a thorough clinical diagnosis, then implemented appropriate interventions and prescribed treatments, and lastly, educated patients and families on their intervention/treatment instructions, diet, exercise, and proper sleep hygiene, and competently answer any questions the patient or family may have had.

Advanced heart therapies - Jackson memorial Hospital

•Evaluated patients for advanced heart therapies, including but not limited to: heart transplant, right ventricular assistive device, left ventricular assistive device, pacemakers, internal cardiac defibrillators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and more.

•Rounded on the admitted inpatient patients daily, performing thorough physical assessments, interviewing patients and their family on current plan, medication reconciliation, discussed discharged planning, collaborated writing new orders with the on call attending and communicated the orders to assigned nursing staff.

•Communicated findings with the assigned attendings, surgeons, and other advanced practice providers on call, discussing the status of the patient in a multidisciplinary approach, determined and wrote orders, then check if the nurses and resident physicians completed those orders accordingly.

•Consulted patients in the outpatient Miami Transplant Institute clinic bi-weekly discussing patient status, concerns, and/or new findings. Reviewed most recent lab and diagnostic results, provided education, assessed surgical sites, assessed progress of rehabilitation, prescribed the updated medication regimen, and encouraged patient’s verbalized understanding, if needed address any lifestyle habits that must be altered.

•Autonomously traveled to patients’ location of residence to complete sick and well visits, recorded patients’ past and current medical history, assessed patients with thorough physical exams, PCR testing, consulting multidisciplinary specialists.

•Administered immunizations, intravenous monoclonal antibody therapy infusions, and wellness/electrolyte intravenous infusions, ordered and performed multiple PCR tests, including, but not limited to: COVID19, Influenza A/B, RSV, Strep Pharyngitis, STI panels, drug screening tests, respiratory pathogen panels and urinalysis.

•Became an RN Level III in less than 2 years after starting in 2017, won the highly praised Daisy Award Winner in 2018, BMT certified and APHON Chemotherapy certified by early 2016.

•Participated in performance improvement activities, including taking the role of the Chair of the Magnet Nursing Finance Council, creating both the "Cost Savings Initiative Program" and "Employee Discount Program” resulting in total cost savings of over $100K per year for the hospital system, and an official program that provides company employees various discounts at 100+ vendors throughout South Florida.

•Educated and trained the patients’ and their families on the correct clinical care for hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant patients, focusing on home health care strategies, quality control, taking care of central lines when outpatient, especially infection control procedures, including handwashing, proper PPE, teaching required verbalized understanding from them, as well as implementation at the bedside.
