Grinded bevels into pipe, added landings and removed landings when necessary depending on welding method. Properly checked bevels with levels. Use cutting wheel and pneumatic pipe cutter to cut pipe to length. Fitted flanges, 90’s, tee’s and pipe using jacks, levels, and 2 hole bolts, dogs and squares. Properly follow all safety guidelines, including proper machine guarding and lock out tagout procedures.

Assisted main surveyor with obtaining useful coordinates for various roads, iron elevations, light pole placements, etc. Various mathematics to determine correct placements and positions for job wide structures. Proper usage of prisms, total stations, precision automatic optical site level.

Grind, bevel pipe and assist pipe fitters bolt up valves and flange. Participated in weekly mass safety meetings and daily tool box safety meetings. Efficiently degreased and clean weld joints. Inspected tools for wear or damage to prevent injuries and accidents. Assisted welder in preparation for startup welding duties. Laid out, fitted, and fabricated metal components. Install oil, water, and air lines throughout power plant.
