Welding Program

Four-year program with emphasis on learning basic techniques of stick, MIG, and TIG welding skills. The program also provided exposure to print reading and experience with lay out instruction. Torch cutting, plasma cutting, and torch track set up were other skills taught in the program.

Electron Beam Furnace Operator

Furnace operations entail application and adjusting of electron beams to melt scrap, in conjunction with understanding, monitoring, and maintaining vacuum pressures and furnace atmosphere. Making adjustments to maintain a safe furnace atmosphere through venting and directing pressure techniques is crucial for to the end product and the productivity and safety of the furnace. The result is production of high quality titanium, much of which is used globally in the aerospace industry. Duties also include crane and large forklift operations for proper product transportation and to maintain the integrity of the titanium, as well as performing routine inspection for safety hazards throughout the operations area.

Welder/Fabricator

Responsibilities included print reading and assembly of welding project. Experience included use of MIG, TIG and flux core welding processes. Metals used with TIG welding experiences primarily included aluminum and stainless steel.

Various positions

Throughout my employment with the company, I worked in asphalt plants, the welding shop, and in surface mines. Duties included driving company vehicles for day-to-day operations, performing stick and flux core welding jobs, light fabrication on site, industrial maintenance, and heavy equipment operations.
