2. Road Construction and Maintenance:
Construct and maintain roads, highways, and other infrastructure by spreading, leveling, and smoothing roadbed materials.
Perform finishing work, such as shaping shoulders, ditches, and slopes, to ensure proper drainage and road integrity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
3. Site Preparation:
Prepare construction sites by grading and leveling the land according to engineering specifications and blueprints.
Remove excess material, cut and fill areas, and create a stable base for further construction activities.
4. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Safely operate motor graders and other heavy equipment in compliance with safety regulations and operational guidelines.
Conduct pre-operational checks, routine inspections, and basic maintenance tasks on the motor grader to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. 5. Site Surveying and Layout:
Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and other layout references to guide grading and excavation work.
Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and other construction personnel to ensure accuracy in site preparation.
6. Material Handling and Distribution:
Spread and distribute materials such as gravel, dirt, and asphalt on road surfaces to achieve proper compaction and coverage.
Operate additional equipment as needed, such as loaders or dump trucks, to move materials on- site.
7. Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure safe operation of the motor grader at all times. Identify and mitigate potential hazards on-site, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
8. Communication and Coordination:
Communicate effectively with other equipment operators, site supervisors, and construction crew members to coordinate grading activities and ensure project goals are met. Provide input on operational efficiencies and suggest improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
