• Receive customers and greeting them politely while seating them to a clean and set table
• Present menus to guest and answer questions about menu items, and making recommendations upon request
• Explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Informed customers of daily specials/promotions in the restaurant
• Take orders from guests’ for food and/or brevarages and ensure all guest meet the necessary age restriction for the consumption of alcoholic drinks.
• Write guest’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computer to minimize errors of demands to the kitchen staff.
• Serving customers with their correct orders and make sure they approve of it and are happy
• Check with customers to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take actions to correct any mistake committed
• Preparing hot, cold, mixed drinks, chilled bottles of wine etc as per customers’ request.
• Prepare or collect food invoices (from the cashier) that itemize and totalize meal costs and present them to customers for payment
• Collect payment from the guest and return their balance, if any
• Remove dished and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
• Clean tables and/or counters after guest have finished dining and ensure salt, pepper, sugar and cutleries on each table are set correctly in the cart
• Always ensure the tables and items on the tables are set correctly before and after attending to the guest
