Duties as a plumber at ISD. I was one of 12 onsite plumbers at District 1 in downtown L.A. Civic Center primarily at Stanley Mosk Court at 111 N Hill Street, Los Angles, CA 90012. I also worked as needed at;

My many varied duties at Stanley Mosk court were;
Repairing, rebuilding, and replacing Sloan Flushometer toilet and urinal valves
Repair and replacement of Chicago Faucets
Removing and resetting leaking American Standard wall mount toilets and urinals
Cable drain cleaning drain stoppages thru out the courthouse with Gorlitz and Spartan cable drain machines and hydrojetters. Rebuiding and repairing these machines.
Repairing Sloan urinal electric timers.
Removing and replacing rotten and leaking original cast iron drain pipe in walls and ceiling with no –hub cast iron and no hub couplings.
Removing and replacing and soldering leaking Type K copper pipe in walls and celings.
Remodeling and repiping bad leaking copper pipe and cast iron pipe in Judges Chambers and administrative offices.
Plumbing repairs in 9th Floor Courthouse cafeteria and kitchen including replacing stainless steel sink strainers and tubular waste and overflows. Servicing plumbing to Hobart dishwashers, servicing and replacing onsite 100 gallon gas water heaters and Bell and Gosset circulating pumps. Redraining and servicing onsite clarifiers and grease traps. Clearing frequent floor drain stoppages in kitchen with Spartan cable and electric jetter.
Did ongoing maintaining of plumbing in the many mechanical and boiler rooms thru out the courthouse which included.
Removing and replacement of 3’ to 8” flanged gate valves (this required a building shutdown and drain down. It also included turn main water back on and checking every restrooms and all 9 floors for running Sloan valves and making repairs.
Repairing and testing backflow prevention valves of all sizes and description thru out this mechanical rooms and at main water meters vaults that served all County buildings I mentioned in the Civic Center.
I was all over every square foot working on the plumbing of these buildings . Every ceiling, pipe chase, mechanical room, subbasement area, and crawl space.
Repairing water hammer conditions thru out courthouse and other building in Civic Center. (this was often caused by loose pipe where hangers were missing or need adjustment.
I was on guard call duty for a 24 hour after hours plumbing emergencies on a one week rotation.
I was a working foreman for 2 years for the restoration of the plumbing at the jail of the Hall of Justice top 4 floors. This was a real challenge because this building went up in 1923 and still had a lot of original copper and brass pipe and fixtures.
Doing ongoing research and help in procurement of materials and equipment for my current supervisors.
