I worked here as a full-time Oracle DBA. I installed Oracle RDBMS and Oracle software on sun

Solaris Unix servers and clients; created databases, created tables, indexes, tablespaces,

triggers, created database users and assigned them roles and privileges, created backup scripts, scheduled them, monitored them daily, fixed any problems, diagnosed database crashed, recovered and restored them up to current point in time using archive redo logs, I did capacity planning monitoring on daily basis, peak time performance monitoring using my scripts, and TODD tool, I scheduled batch jobs for running at a later time during the day. I wrote some Unix shell scripts for DBA tasks monitoring. Some application/report creation was done using Java developer skills. For newer development work I replicated production database schemas onto other site servers and helped the project leading to a new production environment. I had a chance to work on a very big TERRADATA. I prepared data analysis reports for previous two years for showing percent database size growth and increase in their employees for budget purposes, for managers meetings and division conference meetings.

JAVA Busyness development project

This was for a telemarketing company. I created a user login prompt for data entry people. Using this login prompt a user uses his/her username and password to log into their application. Now to use MySQL with JDBC I installed MySQL Connector/J (for java) with JDBC driver. This allowed me to connect to their production database for my reports. I prepared lots of SQL scripts to be used by their technical people Oracle developers and Oracle database administrators to run these SQL scripts on a regular basis for production database monitoring and performance tuning. I also created some database links for both internal connection to company as well as external connection like their vendors for communications anytime.

It was for the Human Resources Office. I have created an input form for employees to fill in their information into this form. This input form will display a prompt for the employee to input their employee ID, first name, last name, job title and salary information. First it will check for validity of their data entered. Then I created a company employee directory requiring an employee ID, First name, Last name, Job title and Annual salary. Then after loading the employee data into this employee director, I have alphabetized their employees list.

I worked here as oracle consultant to do Oracle DBA, SQL dba or Oracle apps DBA works for several Oracle clients. I was assigned specific projects and sent to client sites to perform project task assigned. Sometimes I was a single person to do this job, other times I joined as a team to do the job. These tasks included install and configured oracle RDBMS and oracle software on client - server environment, create databases, schemas tables, Indexes, tablespaces, triggers, procedures, and packages, monitored databases, created, and monitored backups, restored and recovered databases that were crashed using archive redo logs, performance tuned databases and SQL quarries. I have setup network printers and administer printers for specific application printing needs. Sometimes when a customer was preparing to go live into production for their new applications that were home built, we first tested their application to make sure the expected results are accomplished and then soon after we were ready to see their newly developed application going into live production. Some application/reports were generated using my Java developer skills on Unix and Window systems. I wrote shell scripts for monitoring routine DBA tasks for performance purpose. Also, often clients have to get reports on their very large TERRADATA applications data in addition to monitoring Data Warehouse applications data. These reports related to percent increase in their database size and about new database schemas created during last one year.

A busyness development project

I created a form for bank tellers in which a bank teller would enter customer information and then a specific information is retrieved from that customer’s account in the bank. A teller would enter customer Account number, and customer Transection Information. Customer transaction is either a customer credit summary, or customer debit summary, or customer account balance information. Then teller will complete the transaction and print a receipt for this customer.

A second similar project was an ATM project. I created a JAVA script for ATM usage. A customer using ATM teller will enter their Account number and enter their transaction information like what is credit summary or debit summary for customer account, or what is balance information related to customer account.

I was hired as a consultant to perform Oracle DBA, SQL DBA, or Oracle apps DBA tasks for

their clients. I had to go-to specific customer site using their specific hardware/software available environment. It involved using my Oracle DBA, SQL DBA or Oracle apps DBA skills, sometimes as a single member team, other times along with other members to accomplish our

assigned tasks. Application/reports were generated using my Java developer skills. Some

reports were prepared from client Data Warehouse applications data which I prepared using so

many SQL queries I used on their large TERRADATA applications data. These reports were used for manager meetings and regional conference meetings. I also wrote shell scripts to regulate DBA tasks for performance monitoring while some of these scripts were scheduled to run every morning to report any future performance problems on databases.
