Managing the Telecom Scope under the frame of SIEMENS contract with Egyptian National Railways (ENR) to modernize the Signaling and Telecom Systems for Benha / Port Said Railway Corridor. The project is 214 Km long, it has 1 Operational Control Center, 1 Backup Telecom Center, 21 main stations, 19 secondary stations, 84 Level Crossing and +1000 signals. My responsibilities are: -
- Full responsibility for delivering the telecom scope of work in our contract with ENR ensuring the full adherence to the project scope, project budget, project time schedule and the quality standards.
- Managing the telecom subcontractors (HUAWEI, FIBERMISR, HASSAN ALLAM and GTS) and SIEMENS telecom team during the different project phases ensuring the telecom scope smooth delivery.
- Planning the telecom scope activities (Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, FAT, Material Delivery, Installation and Commissioning) ensuring the full adherence to the project time schedule.
- Controlling the telecom scope budget during the different project phases ensuring the under-budget execution and negotiating the subcontractors in case of any changes.
- Controlling the telecom works quality by applying SIEMENS quality control process (IPPs, NCRs, … etc.).
- Risk Management for the telecom scope and supporting in the Overall Project Risk Management.
- EHS Management by reviewing subcontractor EHS monthly report and doing monthly Safety Walk and Talk visits to the different project sites.
- Representing SIEMENS in the project weekly/monthly meetings with ENR stakeholder departments and ITALFERR showing the telecom works progress.
- Leading the weekly follow up meetings with the telecom subcontractors to follow up the telecom progress.
- Supporting the Project Director during the different project phases with my hands-on experience in the different Signaling and Telecom Railway Projects in Egypt.
- Internal interfacing between the different project teams within SIEMENS ensuring the well integration of the telecom systems with the other systems (Signaling, Power Supply, Civil, BMS, …etc.).
- Planning the migration from the old system to the new system ensuring the smooth migration and addressing the other scopes needs during the migration phase.
- Conducting monthly site visits to follow up the activity’s execution done by the telecom subcontractors on-site.
- Reviewing and approving the telecom scope deliverables (detailed design, datasheets, test procedures, …etc.) received from the telecom subcontractors and officially submitting them to ENR/ITF.
- Supporting the finance team technically during the invoicing process to invoice the telecom related invoices.
- Leading the all the factory and site tests (FAT/SAT) for the telecom systems.
- Representing SIEMENS in the technical and financial negotiation with customer and the subcontractors.
- Managing the Telecom systems Operation and Maintenance.
- Supporting the bidding team during the different mobility bids in Egypt.
- Supporting the procurement team during the contract negotiations.

Key Achievements:
- Successful Testing, Commissioning and Putting into operation for 13 main stations.
- Finalizing the Telecom Installations in 19 stations including the Backup Telecom Center (BTC) with full adherence to EHS and Quality Standards.
- Successful negotiation with Huawei and getting 35% discount plus tribble spare parts amount free of charge.
- 2 million EGP cost saving in the fiber accessories budget by modifying the fiber design to be fit for purpose.
- Getting ENR/ITALFERR approval for the installation drawings of Operational Control Center (OCC), Backup Telecom Center (BTC), 21 main stations, 19 secondary stations and 84 Level Crossings.
- Successful Factory Acceptance Tests for 100% of the Telecom materials (equipment, fiber, and copper cables) with having 95% of the whole Telecom materials in our warehouse in Egypt.
- Invoicing 95% of the Material Delivery Portion in the contract.
