Attention: Director of Human Resources,
I am submitting my resume for your review. I am requesting consideration for the position of Senior Design Checker.
My experience includes varied design assignments primarily in the mechanical discipline. My current position is with Delta Steel Technologies in Irving, Texas as a Sr. Design Checker. Responsibilities included Design check of primarily large de-coiling mechanical industrial equipment. Supporting multiple engineering teams, including design check for manufacturability and production assembly. Created a Drawing Requirements Manual underlying the standards used in-house and per ASME Y14.100. I also provide on-site drawing/drafting training.
I have also utilized several computer aided design systems and networks in both 2D and 3D environments for over 35 years, including Creo Viewer, Catia V5/Enovia PLM system V62012, Uni- Graphics NX3/4, SolidWorks, Intergraph/MicroStation and AutoCAD. I am experienced in Commercial, Aerospace, Military, DoD and Industrial applications. Included was mentoring young engineering staff members on proper drafting techniques and methodologies. Experience includes assembly drawings, machined parts, sheet metal, castings, injection molding, hydraulic, pneumatic, structural steel fabrication, electromechanical packaging, tooling/fixtures and engineering design check. I am a self-starter and work independently with minimal supervision. I have also worked for many industries including mechanical, industrial, commercial, aerospace, military and architectural disciplines. I have also created drafting and design manuals used for various applications and companies. I have held positions in various categories and have on hands experience. Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning per ASME Y14.5 – multiple editions, ASME Y14.100-2014-all invocations, including Source Control (SOCD) & Vendor Item Control (VICD) drawings.
I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I look forward to meeting with you in a personal interview to discuss my qualifications, skills and salary requirements commensurate with experience.
Thank you,
