Skills & Abilities

TIME MANAGEMENT

· When given multiple tasks I always complete them by staying focused and organized. For example, during my time in the Chemistry laboratory I often used a grouping by chemical test duration strategy to complete the task of scanning, sorting, and filing about 40 completed specimens quickly and efficiently.

COMMUNICATION

· Although my educational career has equipped me with the knowledge on how to distinguish a normal laboratory result from an abnormal result, some cases in the Hematology laboratory require consultation from a colleague or superior to make an accurate identification. Knowing Page 2

how to express the need for consultation and how to verbally present my findings is one example of my excellent communication skills.

CONSISTENCY

Performing tasks in the exact manner as instructed by accrediting agencies is what makes a successful business. In the Immunohematology laboratory, this ideology can be applied to the importance of using anti-sera reagents correctly. I always follow protocols and procedures because a patient’s well-being and company’s reputation are priorities that should not be second guessed.
