ACTIVITIES

My passion at the present time is Beyond Ourselves, the philanthropic arm of PGICA, (Punta Gorda Isles

Civic Association). I have been a member of this wonderful community outreach group since 2015. It is a group of impassioned women who raise funds for the children of Charlotte County, Florida. We have two major fundraisers each year. I have been on the home tour hospitality committee. This year’s event takes place in February. I recently resigned because of my inability to participate in all of the monthly planning meetings. I felt I was not able to give them the time it deserves.

I have served on many boards over the last 40 plus years, including hospital charity boards and service leagues both in Milwaukee and Walworth County, Wisconsin and Collier County, Florida.

As a boutique owner, I participated in a number of charitable fashion shows in the Naples area.

I was a den mother, room mother and on the PTO board of my sons’ elementary school. I made certain that my sons knew what poverty and hunger looked like as we helped cook and serve meals in Immokalee during their high school years.

While in high school I led and participated in many student council causes, ie: holiday nursing home caroling and gift giving. I also participated in the first Waukesha teen advisory board made up of fellow high school representatives from both public and private. We, of course, had hoped to save the world!
