[Biographic]

I worked as a cook/chef for years - on the East Coast and the West Coast. After completing a bachelor's degree in political science at Rutgers University in 2009, I moved to San Diego, where I had multiple kitchen jobs; as a Sous Chef and then as the Chef/Kitchen Manager of a 250-seat restaurant in Carlsbad, California. After working as the Chef of this restaurant for close to four years, I decided to move back to the East Coast for family reasons. When I arrived back on the East Coast, I intended to change careers; so, I went back to school, attended Mercer County Community College, and completed a ten-course Paralegal Certificate. I quickly found a job at a medical malpractice defense firm in Princeton, New Jersey - 'Buckley, Theroux, Kline & Cooley.' This is a mid-size boutique law firm that specializes entirely in defending doctors, hospitals, and healthcare providers. Within my first year of employment at the law firm, I was given the position of Trial Paralegal. I found the job to be absolutely fascinating - I summarized medical records, reviewed and completed page-line outlines summarizing deposition testimony, researched and summarized relevant medical literature, and worked closely with the partners of the law firm in their extensive preparation of cases for live jury trials. This work is unbelievably detailed oriented. The job also requires you to have an extremely quick learning curve when it comes to complex medical issues. I would then go to the trial with the attorneys, where I would be responsible for all documents (defense exhibits), and the audio/visual presentation in the court room - for instance, when a medical expert for the plaintiff was on the witness stand, I would publish evidence to the jury on the court room's TV screen (HDMI cord to laptop - used in conjunction with a specific trial software program). I was also immensely involved in the war-room strategy discussions as the trial progressed through its phases. The references listed above for the law firm will speak to my work ethic and dedication – as well as my abilities within a complex field of legal practice. Respectfully submitted,

Daniel L. Krell
