Instruct juveniles and staff on appropriate behavior for unit control during daily routines. Control and restrain combative or emotionally disturbed juveniles; approve the transfer of such juveniles to an intensive care unit.

Advise staff of the actions appropriate to maintain unit security and prevent escapes. Ensure that the admission, orientation, classification, and release of juveniles are conducted properly.
