After completing basic Ethiopian Sign Language training for doctors provided by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, I began volunteering at Hossana School for the Deaf. There, I assessed and treated students who fell ill, and referred them to the hospital when further investigation or treatment was needed. Apart from providing medical care, I spent time playing games with the students and assisting them with math homework and art projects. Most Meaningful - This experience was incredibly meaningful and humbling. I was able to connect with and care for a vulnerable community in a more personal way.
