I was a mechanical welder for trinity tail plant. I was on the mechanical side. I did everything with my crew. Welding the jackets for the rail cars,replacing the jackets to replacing old corroded patches underneath the rail car. Everything was inspected and had to be nice and clean. I even learned how to build the rail cars. We had to use a gouger 90% of the time to cut out welds because the metal on the car was so thin the torch would burn through it. The torch was used for cutting out pieces to recover the patches from the corroded areas.
