BIOGRAPHY

Shana,a Miami native,has been painting since her youth.Inspired by a strong sense of spirituality,her colorful abstract works truly reflect who Shana is.“ My greatest artistic challenge is to pleasure another human through my art.My biggest enjoyment is not only when I am painting,but when the viewer of my work can gain the same amount of enthusiasm.” A true student of the arts,Shana received an Associate of Arts Degree as well as a Bachelor in Fashion as well as a minor in Marketing.Her many talents have led to several commissions throughout South Florida and the Caribbean.Such projects include for the Private Jet Center in Ft.Lauderdale,the Paradise Beach Hotel and Casino in Aruba,the City of Hollywood Water Treatment Plant and the Sound Barrier Wall on I95.In addition,her works have been displayed at several group and solo exhibitions winning numerous awards. Working in relative seclusion in her South Florida studio,she shares the grounds of her residence with the Zoological Wildlife Foundation;and is surrounded by Bengal Tigers,Lemurs, monkeys,Lions,Camels,Birds and a host of exotic fauna.This private menegarie helps remind her of the raw simplicity of nature and its nuturing power.Shana’s art exemplifies synchronicity and serendipity at work.

In her thirty year career,Shana has composed a body of work that has been reviewed by American Artist and garnered corporate and private collections,as well as the finest of wholesale art dealers.Her commissioned works have graced the bottles of Terra Blanca Winery.Shana’s paintings have hit international waters with Princess Cruises.She has crossed the Atlantic on board the QE2 as well as the Carribean through publishing companies for solo exhibitions where she is able to attend live auctions of her work. Shana is known as the artist to the stars collected by Sly,Miami Vice,AC/DC,as well as many corporations such as Rank Xerox,Universal Studios,Jockey Club of America,IBM,Barnett Bank,Bobby Rubino,Roy Black,C&S Bank,AJL International,Block Enterprises,Sonesta Beach Hotel,Caribe Airline,Jack Watson-Watson Island to name a few. Her love of art developed naturally in her early years which were spent drawing with her father as well as creating posters for her mother for various activities.

“I just enjoyed crayons,coloring books,writing music,poetry,collecting albums,&doing projects in school that required creativity…..I always excelled in school when I had the freedom to create.I had a very hard time with all the rest.I do believe that there were definite signs along the way...guiding me…..but I didn’t figure it out till I was in my mid twenties.I met Marvin Markman(abstract artist)he happened to have a gallery in the design district in Miami.I met with him &knew right away that abstract art was my passion.Believe me,I would have never persued this if I didn’t have the ability to act on chance ocurrences….that’s where the magic takes you to a place that only happens when you are deep in concentration...as if you are the vessel &they are your guides.”

Shana’s life experiences have been the triggers for her most thought provoking and heartfelt creations.Her present style is a true reflection of her emotional and spiritual depth.
