LPN with over ** years in the nursing field. I started out as CNA and worked my way up in the nursing feild learning so much over the years. I value each part of the nursing career as we need every single part to care for the patients we care for. I have also been behind the scenes in management to know and understand our state regulations and why we have to do certain things the way we do. My past experience has given me the knowledge I have now along with my BON degree to care for patients with compassion and dignity. Professional Experience
LPN Forest Hill Heights
May 2022 - Present
I am currently the evening LPN for this facilty which has a census between 69-75. I am required to do treatments, medications, injections, wound care, assessments, write and/or take verbal ordets from MD, hospice care, using my scope of practice know when there is a medical emergency and the patient needs to be sent out, discuss patient care/care plan with director of personal care, case manager and family members, manage staff members during my shift. This facility does have a memory care unit as well, dementia and Alzheimer's care is given during every shift, being a nurse in the memory care unit is very different and we have to have the knowledge of how to care for these patients as it is very different than caring for the assisted living unit. We may have behavioral issues, sundowners, feeding issues, speaking difficulties, all issues that have to be monitored by the nurse and any changes reported and addressed immediately. Assisted Living
Manager/LPN
Conowingo Veterans Center
June 2015 - September 2022
I enjoyed working at Conowingo for 7yrs. I started a medication technician and worked my way up into the manger of the facility. This was a facility that mainly housed veterans but we did accept non veterans. I managed and cared for approximately 16-20 patients over this time. I managed for roughly 10-12 staff members as well. My position required I be proficient in word, excel, time management, staff management, communication skills, keep the facility at all times within state and VA guidelines under the MD Comar regulations. This required all charts from patients to staff be up to date with all information required at all times. I worked along side the director Raye Ragan to accomplish these goals daily. This position allowed me to gain experience within the medical field as well as with management skills and state guidelines. I had to be available to work the floor when staff was unable to come in or we had an emergency. The patients ranged from independent to full care. We provided all the way through end of life care and worked with hospice to accommodate aging in place for the patients . I was able to use my nursing skills along with my management skills to perform my job daily. Education
