Mission Statement:
The mission of Creative Flips, Inc. as a Business Development firm is to seek financial sources/capital interested in investing in a specific business sector, locate funding opportunities that meet those criteria, then identify all of the elements necessary to complete the package for the capital providers and facilitate funding. The principals that we have access can provide capitalization for projects and opportunities to the appropriate funding level as the case may dictate well over $100B AUM. The capital sources we work with are well versed in the inner workings of the entertainment industry as well as real estate/general business and have participated in these business sectors in the past. We also endeavor to assist companies and provide capital through the entire capital stack as needed. On behalf of our client base, our objective is to secure and limit the downside risk of any investment as well as to protect and preserve the client’s position for revenue recapture and profit in the shortest time frame possible. Ken Sheppard- President
Over a 50 plus year span of time, Ken has actively provided capital markets funding services to companies across many industries. He has closed close to $70M in deal flow including sports related deferred compensation funding. Ken has successfully navigated complex transactions, providing proof of funds for $500M and been involved with projects both large and small. Ken is well known for his acumen and skill set. His capital markets reach is extensive and global. He has participated in billions of dollars of overall capital activities including the entertainment space over his professional history.
1969-1972 LA Valley Junior College in Accounting and Music. Graduated with honors.
1972-1974 The William Morris Agency, Beverly Hills, CA Television Package Accounting Department.
1974-1976 CBS in Television City in LA CA. Served as a CBS financial below-the-line cost control representative.
1976-1986---Financial and accounting services to television and motion picture industry companies including MTM Productions, Viacom Productions, Fox, Warner Brothers, Hanna Barbera,, etc.
1980—Sourced music material for producer Dennis Lambert. Located a song from Warner Brothers Music. This song was recorded by “The Manhattans” and appeared on the Love Songs LP released by CBS Records.
1986---Production/development deal to develop motion picture and television properties for the Lawrence Schiller Company.
1986-1988---Manager to Writers and/or Directors. Clients were CBS, The Ladd Company and Tri-Star Pictures among many others, Served as Executive Producer on project sold to The Ladd Company. The Ladd Company is the same firm that produced “Brave Heart” which starred Mel Gibson. .
1988 to present---Securitization financing in real estate and entertainment.
An all-cash 5 day closing of $5.7M for the acquisition of an office building in Houston Texas.
Complete restructuring of a shopping center in the Southeast USA for $2M.
Joint venture between a Christian music download service, EMI and one of the largest Christian churches in the USA.
Closed loan for $8M secured by the deferred compensation of an NBA player.
Served on the marketing committee for two years for middle market events hosted through The LA Venture Association.
Participated in closing two separate transactions for up to $44M for Health Care entities.
Arranged for client to be approved by the FDIC
Closed failed bank loan portfolio for $730K on an unpaid principal balance of $1.7M.
Closed $1M LOC for IT firm.
Closed loan against equipment for $1M.
Packaged Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Live Nation, Monster Drinks and Idol Roc resulting in the launch of the first American tour by Iggy Azalea.
Closed 2 debt rounds totaling $8.5M for a digital media company in Miami, Florida.
Multiple real estate fix and flip loans and purchases.
