UTC, Senior Email Security Engineer Jan 2003 - Jan 2024. o Mr. Mount was the only member of the email team with Unix and Sendmail experience. He was assigned to the corporate mailhub project (A dozen or so other team members handled Exchange and other older Windows based email systems.)

o As lead for the corporate mailhub, Mr. Mount made a number of changes in response to changes in the email threat landscape. o Mr. Mount was worked on these projects/milestones -- o Migration of traffic from 4 remaining business unit specific mailhubs to corporate mailhubs (originally Newington data center only). o Migration of more than 20 remaining independent email systems to a single Exchange system.

o Added redundant mailhubs in Meriden Data Center for Disaster Recovery. o Participated in yearly Disaster Recovery Exercises. o Added enforced mandatory TLS support, starting with Boeing and Lockheed, ultimately 160 TLS partner companies.

o Mr. Mount continued as primary support for TLS, including regular communication with TLS partners for synchronizing the list of supported domains, etc.

o Replaced previous DMZ relays (used to transport mail across the DMZ, in Newington and Meriden datacenters) with Sendmail-Switch on UTC standard Unix servers (same platform as mailhubs.)

o Mr. Mount continued as support lead for mailhubs and DMZ relays. o Set up an interim internal Spam Assassin solution (running on the mailhubs) to deal with spam while the company found a long term, external SAAS solution (about one year).

o Re-routed inbound mail to go through the Postini secure SAAS Internet gateway.

o Mr. Mount was administrator of the corporate Postini Anti-Spam Solution for 6 years. (2005 – 2011.)

o Migrated inbound traffic from Postini to Proofpoint. o Mr. Mount was lead for the Proofpoint security internet gateway

(2011- 2023.)

o Migrated Mailhubs and DMZ relays from Sendmail Switch to Sendmail Sentrion appliances.

o Migrated outbound traffic to also flow through Proofpoint. o Divestiture of HS Industrial group (Sullair, Sundyne, and Milton-Roy, more than 100 email domains.)

o The acquisition of Goodrich (2011, 25,000 employees, $25 billion). o The divestiture of Sikorski business unit to Lockheed. o The divestiture of the UT-Power (manufacture of fuel cells) business unit. o Migrated Mailhubs and DMZ relays from Sendmail Sentrion appliances to Proofpoint PPS appliances after Proofpoint purchase of Sendmail. o Acquisition of Rockwell-Collins (2019, $30 billion, 30,000 employees). o The spinoff of Otis business unit and Carrier business unit to become independent businesses.

o The move out of the Meriden and Newington datacenters to Ashburn, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles.

o The RTX email system currently supports 3 business units with about 180,000 email accounts in four major and about 60 legacy email domains

(down from a peak of 8 business units, 240,000 email accounts and 900 domains.) The current inbound email volume is just over 2,000,000 messages per day.
