Principal Firmware QA Engineer / People Manager February 2023 – April 2024 Promoted and expanded responsibilities. Worked closely with VP, Fleet Support, Customer Support and other Dev and QA teams.

• Managed a team of six direct report, QA Engineers consisting of contractors and one FTE spanning three countries and three contract agencies.

• Wrote performance plans and reviews. Promoted the FTE to Engineer II.

• Ensured that QA Team members received recognition for the work done. Previously QA was often thought of as a roadblock instead of the final gatekeepers before customers received the product.

• Participated in Product Release Review Board meetings to determine if firmware and customized scripts were ready for each stage of the release process.

• Mentored junior member of the team in Linux/BASH scripting by working with the member to create a script to create a debug package to gather system configuration information, log files and system image to give to the Dev team when reporting bugs. Script is used by Field, Storage and Platform. The script is now a feature of the FW releases.

Interfaced with partners, Customer Support and Development on characterization, performance and set up of NexentaStor. Worked remotely as part of a team of QA, Development, Support and Sales/Marketing based in several countries. Built and maintained physical and virtualiz test infrastructure for team.

• Teamed up with sales and support to verify that steps in customer Proof of Concepts are tested before deployment.

• Built infrastructure for testing using VMWare ESX and Fusion, Hyper-V, VirtualBox, and physical hardware, including multiple NexentaStor servers, Windows and Linux clients, Windows and Linux servers and Windows Active Directory Domain Controllers..

• Utilized Load Dynamix TDE and Enterprise, both physical and virtual (VMWare), to test NexentaStor functionality and provide heavy loads for testing.

• Interfaced between partner test organization and Nexenta. Explored load/performance characteristics to help partners understand how to most effectively utilize NexentaStor.

• Developed scripts to put variable SMB and NFS loads on NexentaStor servers to supplement work with LDX and smbtorture.

Storage Development Senior Engineer September 2011 – February 2014 Lead for team of up to five contractors and full-time employees in quality assurance for three Dell PowerVault products. Wrote test plans and cases for current and upcoming products. Participated in Core Team meetings.
