Identify patients using proper procedures prior to specimen collection. Counsel patients to ease fears, explain procedures and enhance cooperation during blood draw.
Locate veins suitable for puncture to draw blood using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment.
Prepare blood collecting equipment to draw blood and safely store and transport samples.
Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
