Resume

Donna S Weiss

The last ** years I have been taking care of my husband that got hurt on the job. I started online college classes back in February last year and have taken a hiatus for a bit. As my husband passed, I am getting back in school again and it's time to start working again. I have been absent from the solid work force for a while. I'm going back to school for Business. Here are some of my past jobs.

Dollar General. Shift Lead

7/2021 to 8/2022. Auburn, KS

Fired–got hurt on the job and my manager didn’t even know how or who to call, that was in July-22 and finally got surgery in Dec-22.

Duties: Open & close the store, count the draws, do end of night count and deposit, janitor, stock0, cashier, customer service, attend to the venders, and all around take care of everyone that comes in to the best of my ability and let them leave with a smile. Lots of standing, bending, kneeling, carrying up to 50 lbs, some sitting, reading, and being able to do math.

WalMart. Personal Shopper

1/2017 to 4/2017. Quit-husband illness got bad

Got personal shopping list that individuals would order in. I went around the store picking the food they wanted so they did not have to come inside to get there food. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Comp

9/2010 to 5/2016. Quit-migraines

Got severe migraines I resigned

Extruder Operator–I learned how to run all 4 of our extruders in our area, the gum machines, and the wheels/rolls and traps that the finished rubber goes into, move to another area. Used electric fork trucks, pallet jacks, hand jacks, tugs, also propane fork trucks. Moving rubber on pallets, scrap rubber bins, and the traps around to keep out lines running. Doing change overs, changing out the rubber and the dies, and most of the settings so the product would come out correctly with the least amount of waste. Had to resign because the neurologist said it was most likely the smells of the cooking rubber. Heinz/Del Monte Pet Foods

6/2000 to 5/2010. My medical issues, was in hospital off & on for over about 9 weeks. Started in the Bones department which included running the extruders, 150 ft oven, the dip tanks and slurry tank, the fast oven. Then the running of the tower, included emptying grain trucks and grease trucks, emptying pallet trucks, refilling empty–pallet trucks, placing product where it is needed, doing premix for both the treats area and the bones area. The use of grain bins, hammer mills, sifters, and grinders for the use of grains. Smaller mixers for the premix. The use of the cardboard baler.

Frito Lay. Semi Trailer Loader

2/2000 to 5/2000. I quit for a better pay and immediate insurance for two kids. More reliable job, not temp at first.

I loaded the trailer by hand, as the picker would go around the horseshoe picking the orders. While the picker puts the order on the conveyor belt I was in the trailer stacking the product. Frito Lay has a 6 months probation where they don't have to do the insurance and benefits. They can lay you off for a day and call you back and restart the 6 months. I got the offer from Heinz, full benefits and better pay and with two kids I had to say yes.

“I had a motto when I was young that if the guys could do it, I could do it as good if not better, even if I was only 5’2”.

Needless to say that after 30 yrs of manual labor I am looking for a sit down, more of a brain job than a manual job.
