• Responsible for greeting and checking in patients at the front desk of the emergency room. • Collected all patients insurance information, made copies of the insurance cards, collected patients co-pays and gathered all needed documentation to admit patient in hospital prior to seeing a doctor. • Worked with insurance companies to confirm patient benefits. • If it was determined that a patient needed to be admitted I prepared their admitting package, which includes assigning rooms and making sure all proper paperwork was filled out and contained proper authorization. • Worked closely with doctors, nurses, and fellow admitting clerks. • Prepared the insurance information in order for the medical billing dept and answered phones. • Admitted adult, infant and newborn patients.
