Started as a cook, I’ve always and still am till this day the type of employee that will go the extra mile, even if it’s not my job to do these or those tasks, when I was cooking I always made sure by rush hour had everything filled and right before it would be running low I already had another 2 -3 batches coming out., wiped down my area made sure I had backed up batter mixers, and even if it was 5 or 10 mins I’d go help the prep person make more biscuits, salads, got ice for lobby and drive throug, even jumped to help do orders and giving them out, few months later got manager position, learned daily inventory, sheets, reports, deposits and assign registers counting them made sure deposits were good. I can go on and on honestly, but to me it’s about how you got to that position being Crew member or shift leader, manager or GM always give your best and don’t stop just cause you on top keep working smarter not harder and as i used to tell my young teens, I want you to be in my position so I can have some days off lol meaning I’d tell them and get after them not because I’m being mean but because I can see and know they are capable of doing so much better for themselves in the long run.
