Career Goal
I am a young dynamic and a self-motivated person with much passion to work to impact positively on the goals and aspirations of any organization that employ me.
With my lifetime working experience of about Two decades of practice in the media space as News Editor, News Anchor, Reporter, General Manager, Programmes Manager and Presenter and a little bit sales/marketing
In the Local Government Service, I did my national service with the Public Affairs unit of the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, RCC which has shaped my skills in writing news stories and photography.
I would work heart out with absolute focus in achieving the ultimate goal(s) set by the company or organization.
I am a member of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA.
Work Experience
2021 – present: Studio Manager and Lecturer at the Institute of Business and Journalism, IBM&J Tamale. I teach the students to practice of journalism in the studio. Also, I teach Broadcast Journalism and Online Journalism.
2021 – 2023: News Editor, News Anchor, and Morning Show Host of Dagbon FM in Tamale. I was responsible for preparing the daily news broadcast. Also am in charge of assigning Reporters to honour invites for news coverage. I was the Morning show host and Producer to all on-air discussion programmes.
2017 – 2021: General Manager and Programmes Manager of Radio Mak 105.5MHz in Wa, Upper West Region. I supervise the day-to-day activities of all the departments at the station. Also am in charge of reviewing the existing programmes from time to time and also introduces new programmes. Write proposals to businesses and institutions on behalf of the station. I negotiate business contracts on behalf of the station.
2019 – 2020: Assistant, Public Relations Unit, during my national service at the Offices of the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, RCC at the Public Relations Unit, Wa. I was an Assisting the PRO in all his official assignments. I was supporting the PRO is covering programs attended by the Regional Minister, the Deputy Regional Minister, the Chief Director or a delegated staff to take photographs and recording of voices for onward writing of a news story to update the RCC official Facebook page and further sent to some media outlets.
2014 – 2017: Programmes Manager, Radio Justice limited 98.5MHzin Tamale, Northern Region. I am in charge of building programs for the station, Coordinating programs, Review of existing programmes and Host of the Morning Show.
2006 – 2014: Head of Gonja Department, Radio Justice Limited, in Tamale, Northern Region. I was a Newscaster, Transcribing English scripts into Gonja and translating audios or voices in English into Gonja. I was also a Presenter and Producer to all Gonja programmes.
2008 – 2016: Elections Correspondent; I cover general elections in Damongo constituency of the Savannah Region for various media houses of the Multimedia Group.
2010 – 2011: Sales Executive; I worked part-time with MTN Ghana as a sales person in the Northern region. We do sales and other registrations in Tamale, Damongo and Buipe markets.
