I came from hospital Psychiatric units compared to these cold stone walls. My duties included general nursing, crisis intervention,supervised
RN,LPN, CNA and learned state rules and regulations 1978 Hiram college took psychology and social work classes 1979 Psych Nurse II for Maximum Security NGRI/ Mental Health and Corrections hourly crisis intervention and was assigned 2 pods and
admissions. Developed routine and basic rules and rewards system things. Filling in as nurse or aide any shift for my team's safety. Big part was
listening, including the team, working beside them not in an office, being exposed to the same working conditions and always in the middle of
something. Altercations decreased to being rare and I had an open door policy for both staff and clients. Being their ombudsman, headed the interdisciplinary team and had client present for input into their care 1982 Training Officer II Worked with teams setting up Halfway/ Group homes handbooks and working at the first one from opening day at Heer

holidays.
