Design and create data center layout and cabling infrastructure drawings using AutoCAD. Design, layout and draw both cabling plan and IT equipment elevations to create site RFP cabling package documents.

Work directly with project managers and various IT disciplines to understand IT requirements for both copper and fiber site cabling infrastructure.

Level all cabling bids received from at least three (3) cabling vendors and choose the best qualified.

Create and establish the company’s Data Center Standards documentation. This standards documentation covers the complete scope from choosing an appropriate site, designing and defining the electrical, HVAC, fire suppression, physical security, and network topology systems. It also included utilizing AutoCAD Architecture 2014 to create scaled drawings of all the data center and communication room spaces. During the standards documentation, I was also responsible for consulting on data center best practices regarding mechanical and electrical design, data center access and physical security and training.

Created and established a data center training program ensuring all data center and communication room users had a full understanding of the organization’s data center expectations and their code of conduct while within these critical technology spaces.

BRASS VALLEY LLC, Milford, MA 2013 - 2014

Business Manager/Operations Specialist/Consultant

Utilizing AutoCAD Architecture 2014, I created a complete 3D drawing of both the first and second floor of the building this business occupies. This drawing was instrumental in understanding the data center space layout to propose and implement design changes and increase productivity. The drawing was also used to understand and document the warehouse layout, security camera environment, and building square footages to re-negotiate the lease agreement.

Applied Lean/Six Sigma experience improving processes reducing labor cost by 33%.

Successfully researched and implemented the installation of high efficiency lighting upgrades and remote access thermostat control saving an estimated 40% in lighting, heating and cooling costs.

Data Center Operations Manager

Managed the daily operations staff of seven Data Center Technicians and three contractors in the infrastructure installations of cabling, servers and network equipment while adhering to documented procedures and guidelines, end to end troubleshooting, administrative functions, risk management, security access, power, space and cooling requirements.

Profitably installed HVAC containment systems resulting in energy cost savings of over $40,000 annually as well as National Grid utility rebates.
