Responsibilities included tug assist dockings of vessels and barges up to 550,000 DWT tons into and out of the harbor under direction of a harbor pilot; towing tank barges on coastal and near coastal deliveries to bunker vessels and local power plant; and towing barges on ocean voyages longer than 1,500 miles to deliver or pick up between St. Croix and shipyards on the US mainland.

Trained Captains, Mates, and Mate trainees. As Designated Examiner, helped qualify Captains for USCG Master of Towing credentials.
