WORK EXPERIENCE
02/02/2018 – CURRENT Pamplemousses, Mauritius
SPECIALISED NURSING OFFICER TRUST FUND FOR MEDICAL SPECIALISED CARE (CARDIAC CENTRE) During the past 6 years at the Cardiac Unit, I have been posted in different departments such as the Intensive care unit from February 2018 to May 2019 taking care of patients’ pre and post operative cardiac surgery with other comorbidities. Patients who are on artificial ventilation and other advanced technologies such as Temporary or Permanent pacemakers, Intra- Aortic balloon pump, infusion pumps and perfusers. My responsibilities were to: -
• Ensure that the highest standard nursing care is always maintained including care of Central venous line, Arterial line and surgical wound.
• Provide post-operative care including dressing of wounds.
• Monitor cardiac reading and vitals of patients and perform drug administration (Intravenous/ Intramuscular and orally) while reporting of patients’ status to doctors and surgeons. From April 2019 to August 2019, I was posted in the Angiography Department and back in April 2023 till now where my responsibilities are:
• Assisting Cardiologists including foreign teams in performing angiography and angioplasty, Temporary and Permanent pacemaker implantation, TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation), CRTD (Cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker) and congenital procedures including PDA coiling, PDA and ASD closure in both adults and pediatrics.
• Evaluating and treating patients (pre and post angiography).
• Patient education (post angiography).
• Ensuring proper handing over of patients to ICU or respective wards. From August 2019 to May 2023, I was posted in the Outpatient department and wards where my responsibilities were to:
• Do admission of patients for surgery, angiography and angioplasty and other cardiac procedures and prepare patients for their interventions.
