WORK HISTORY

Before I starting my new career at The United States Embassy, I was a member of the Ethiopian navy for almost four years and seven months. Due to the demobilization of the Ethiopian Navy during the civil war, I separated from the Navy and joined the U.S. Embassy in June 2002, where I worked until June 2024. Within the U.S. Embassy, I started my job as an ordinary security guard, with specific duties related to providing security for U.S. Diplomat residences. I was then promoted to the highest level of senior guard at the U.S. Embassy Compound and consulate, where I oversaw several U.S. Embassy facilities including the U.S. Embassy Warehouse, Peace Corps main office, U.S.AID main office, and U.S. CDC main office. From 2015 until June 2024, I advanced to the highest level of security grade as Guard Supervisor. My main duties were to control access, provide customer service, act as an incident commander, evaluate Security Guards, and provide training. In addition to these tasks, I also provided services in the U.S. Embassy Consulate Section Immigrant Visa files and clerical handling.
