My responsibilities were primarily set-up and maintain a sterile environment for Surgical Procedures, to assemble and anticipate supplies and equipment necessary for specific Surgical Procedures, and to directly assist surgeons during said procedures. To turn-over the surgical suite for following procedures. This entails all house- keeping duties. I also process, assemble, and sterilize all instrumentation and equipment that require surgical expertise for the entire hospital. I covered 150-300 hours of call (stand-by) per month, primarily for Labor & Delivery,but also for general surgery and ortho procedures. I ordered all supplies for the surgical department including surgical implants for specialty procedures. I also performed clerical duties normally associated with a unit clerk.
