Dear: Sir or Madam
I’m a highly, energetic, decisive, innovative, self-starter professional, who is willing and quite able to tackle the issues. I am a result oriented individual when a problem is presented I use back-out type thinking to determine why the problem is, it origin, and other mitigating factors before trying to find a solution. This prevents unintended consequences of a quick solution approach. Most people try to find a financial solution to solve a human problem. My critical thinking skills employ finding human solution to human problems that have positive outcomes. I have dedicated 20 plus years of my professional career working in the area of Workers Compensation/Disability Management with public, private and PEO’s. I have an Ohio Property & Casualty, and Life Accident, Health and Variable Product License. I am well versed in workers compensation law in all fifty states, including Canada. My successes where published by the Ohio Monitor March 1997 issue On the City of Cleveland Success, Write up OSHA Compliance, Business and Legal Reports, 0896-9949/88/, p.11.OCA 321,
I develop the policy and procedures for claims processing, claims management, and develop the return to work policy and strategies. Claimant’s reports and Supervisor are required to investigate (fact find) and fill out supervisor’s accidents reports. I develop a charge back system for organization operation for accountability. I performed job analyses to define job function from the excertion and non excertional point of view in order to manage the physical and psychological issues as it relates to occupational injuries. I separate the occupational and non occupational issues as it relates to work environment.
I develop and implemented scanning Technology for the sole purpose of capturing text, and images to attach to Workers Compensation files. Medical report where scanned as images to protect the integrity of the POR signature, and hearing result from the legal department where scanned and converted to Microsoft Word documents, and attach to the files.
I created database on a network with the ability to attach files for managing claims. using RiskMaster World to manage claims through the internet for off site location and giving access to the appropriate personnel for managing claims.
I select the Qualified Health Providers and trained them on the vocational terminology and provide them with functional job description based on the functional demand of the jobs. We become a team managing issues with a better understanding of what we do from a functional point of view or job task.
I pay medical bill after reviewing the files for appropriateness and use the states usury fee schedule or negotiated fees from providers to authorize bill payment.
I have a solid understanding of software application, as it relate to managing risk. I wrote the hardware and software specification for the purchase of computers and software for the department and, maintained the network system. I’m a skilled user of Microsoft Office XP outlook; excel (spreadsheet), access and word. I have created database in Assess and used a report writing software to create reports for reviewing trend and target risk exposures.
I was train by the Toledo Police Department on Motor vehicle accident investigation in 1984, and completed the defensive driving instructor training program by the National Safety Council. I taught Defensive Driving for ten years for the city Toledo. I served as Chairman for the Accident Review Committee for all uniformed and non uniformed employees in the City of Toledo & Cleveland.
