I am a registered Mechanical Engineer with EBK, and have valuable knowledge in Maintenance and production scheduling, coordination, control and supervision. Mechanical Engineer November 2021 to Dec 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.Provide technical support to the Mechanical team to ensure correct parts procurement and proper replacement of parts or equipment and advice store on the management of spare parts stock level.

2.Review work planning and scheduling and provides feedback to the maintenance manager to ensure that job plans are efficient and effective

3.Prepare Preventive Maintenance Schedule and track its implementation for all equipment to ensure they are maintained in proper working conditions

4.Undertake routine preventive& corrective maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, Pumps, hoists, hydraulic rivet machines, replacing air & oil filters to curb downtime.

5.Assigning and Inspection of completed work to check that repairs and maintenance schedule have been completed successfully and that machinery and equipment conform to specifications and safety standards

6.Monitor closely MTTR,MTBF & OEE of key production equipments to ensure equipment availability is adequate to meet the profit plan

7.Coach and mentor both production and maintenance staff and assist them ascertain the root cause of a problem.

8.Plan according to priority and assign tasks so that the team’s resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met.

9.Train new employees the operating procedures and standards.

10.Monitor utilities consumption and advise where necessary

1.Design of various machine parts and vehicle bodies for fabrication using AutoCAD to the required standards.

2.Project planning, execution and monitoring to the completion, for fabrication of pipe production machines

3.Generation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for the designed parts and discussing with the Operations Director before raising Purchase Requests.

4.Generation of job orders to the machine shop technicians for cutting, machining and guiding them throughout the process.

5.Raising Purchase Requisitions with the stores for fabrication materials and follow up till delivery, then carry out inventory control.

6.Supervising the manufacturing and fabrication processes of the designed machines.

7.Periodically training fabrication team on quality control during fabrication.

8.Supervising the production process of pipe flanges.

9.Preparing detailed daily reports concerning machine fabrication and flange production and submitting them to the factory manager.

10.Reviewing and checking correctness of designs submitted by other engineers and interpreting the drawings to the fabrication technicians.

Co-ordinated and supervised first ever Tipper mounting on a truck that had been assembled in the assembly line the same day.

Participated in the design, fabrication and installation of SRU machine for steel pipe production.

Was part of the team that designed and fabricated Cold Expander and Hot roll machines.

Developed SOPs for the design and fabrication process at ASP Company Ltd, which is working up to date.

Successfully trained my team on drawing interpretation, general fitting and quality control.

Implemented safety measures within my fabrication team, which was adopted by other section heads and applauded by the management.
