DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly responsible for the day-to-day safe operation, sound mechanical and physical conditions of my assigned equipment.

1.Safety is priority & must be taken into consideration & be on the alert.

2.Able to read & understand the operator’s manual see to it that the machine is in proper order before operating.

3.With knowledge regarding the lifting Load Table & ensure that this machine can safely lift each load before attempting to lift it.

4.Checks the jobsite personally before operation seeing to it that unnecessary people, equipments & materials are kept out of the working area.

5.Area around the crane should be properly barricaded.

6.Must understand Crane Signals take signals only on designated Signal Men.

7.Operators must respond to Emergency Stop Signal whenever & whoever sent it.

8.Ensure personal competence and awareness on the operational and safety aspects of the equipment assigned to him, including its day-to-day documented start up and periodic preventive maintenance check. Never presume if in doubt, consult immediate superior.

9.Ensure that a signed and approved hot work permit or equipment entry permit, is available before moving the equipment into an operating plant or restricted area where such permit is compulsory. Know the capacity limits of bridges / cross over, heights of overhead structures or power lines before attempting to cross or pass through with his equipment. If going to travel with load, know the actual weight of the load and ensure it does not exceed the posted axle load capacities on bridges (if any).

10.Never leave equipment operating or with its engine “switched on” unattended at any one time.

11.Never allow unauthorized personnel or riders on the equipment.

12.Always park or leave the equipment in a designated parking area. Never leave equipment elsewhere at the construction site or operating plant.
