Stellantis – Program and Design Responsible - Restraint Engr. 06/2015 – 12/2021

Restraint Engineering - Program Responsible for RAM Truck Brand Portfolio (+600K units, 30 different models and two NAFTA assembly plants). Developed cost, weight, investment, validation, and performance targets for steering wheels, multiple airbag modules, and seat belt components. Scope included Design Office, change management, PPAP, warranty, supplier quality, federal compliance and launch readiness. Initial assignment was as Design Responsible – Seat Belt Engineering for all Chrysler Group vehicles (+2 million). System and Component specifications, packaging, appearance, comfort, test validation, crash performance tuning (IIHS, US-NCAP and Euro-NCAP) and federal compliance.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles – Senior Manager - Scientific Labs 05/2007 – 05/2015

Head of Electrical and Electronic (E/E) Labs supporting for all Chrysler Group vehicle development. Responsible for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) approval for all Chrysler Group vehicles. Radiated Emissions, Radiated Immunity, Conducted Emissions and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) testing on components and vehicles. Leveraged EMC Test Facility to generate $1-2M/year in outside revenue performing supplier testing. Supported HEV battery charging and thermal testing, plywood system bucks, Hardware-In The -Loop and E-Gas Validation. Prototype Factory E/E Sponsor which reduced pre-production vehicle cost $50M annually. E/E Labs was composed of 175 engineers and 75 UAW technicians / mechanics.

Chrysler – Senior Manager – Wiring, Engine Electrical Systems 11/1997 – 04/2015

Design and Release - Minivan Platform (+500K units and 3 NAFTA/EMEA plants) – Wiring (Engine and Body) including connectors, pins, schematics, mounting components, power distribution center, and fusing. Engine electrical includes battery, starter, alternator, and spark plugs. Scope includes timing, piece price, capital, and weight. Led EMC and Systems Group to ensure vehicle and part E/E performance. Group management included performance reviews and budget (headcount, engineering competence, OT, and capital projects). Built a flat wire prototype vehicle with Mercedes Research.

Other Chrysler Group - Automotive Experience

Design and Release of ergonomic switches, clock springs, door control modules, instrument clusters, and climate control systems (ducts, outlets, HVAC package, compressor, plumbing, and condenser). Ability in injection and blow molding, first surface graining, pad printing, laser graphics, switch haptics, and human factors. Quality Assurance Planning Tools include DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, Six Sigma Green Belt, System Engineering, Process Capability, Kaisen PDCA, 8D-5W Process Review, Kepner-Tregoe and Reactive Problem Solving. Cross functional exposure to Body-In-White, Structures, Chassis, Powertrain, Interior and Fuel Systems.
