Inbound:
Answer calls from physician offices and provide correct laboratory results for their patient(s)
Provide correct testing requirements to both physician offices/staff and Quest Diagnostics Patient Service Center (PSC) employees.
Make appointments for patients, provide directions to that location as needed.
Transmit information or documents to medical providers using computer, mail or fax machine,
OUTBOUND:
Call physician offices with patient Priority and/or STAT results
Return calls from physician offices with requests for more information on testing or results.
Receptionist:
Operate telephone switchboard (500 line) to answer, screen, or forward calls. Provide information on company, hours of operation, take messages and schedule appointments.
Greet visitors entering the establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit and then directing them to their location and/or arrange escort through the building.
Training duties
Train new employees on both the procedures and policies of the company. Teach the test lookup system to the new employees and how to determine which test is the best for what the medical provider is trying to rule out on their patient. Teach the new employees the proper way to use the telephone system and verbiage for the greeting and closing of a phone call.
Also, I was in charge of ordering all supplies and equipment for the department. I also was in charge of quarterly birthday luncheons.
