CLINICAL AND TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Residency Training: Comprehensive experience across inpatient adult, geriatric, and adolescent units, including a Baker Act receiving emergency department. Gained significant interventional exposure to Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) with Neurostar and Brainsway, as well as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Outpatient rotations included a diverse array of clinics, a Partial Hospitalization Program, and longitudinal experience at the William “Bill” Kling VA Clinic. I was recognized as the 2022 “Resident of the Year,” an annual award for a PGY 2 resident who demonstrates leadership, mentorship, and advanced clinical skills.

Chief Resident: In my fourth year, I was appointed Chief Resident, where I was responsible for managing the schedules of 33 residents, coordinating with visiting residents and medical students, and delivering lectures to junior residents. I regularly attended monthly department meetings and played a key role in facilitating interviews for incoming residents and participating in ACGME program evaluation meetings.

Educational Experiences: I authored several question sets for the Rosh Review Psychiatry Question Bank, specifically tailored for PRITE preparation. I also mentored junior residents in preparing and presenting various case conferences. Additionally, I assisted in facilitating our weekly 'live interviews' and provided evaluations for PGY-1 psychiatry residents to enhance their interviewing skills.

Voluntary Acceptance of Recommended Psychotropic Medication and Inpatient Hospital Outcomes: A Retrospective Review – Principal Investigator Dr. Mousa Botros, MD. Ongoing retrospective analysis of patients admitted to MDFAC at Jackson Health System.

The extent of education of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in residency training curricula - Principal Investigator Dr. Mousa Botros, MD. Prospective qualitative survey of psychiatry, family medicine, and obstetrics-gynecology residents to assess PMDD education in residency curriculum.
