Upon clocking in we start to prepare for the truck unload if their is a truck that day. Usually 4 or 5 time a week. When the unload starts it is about 2 hours of hectic work palletizing the boxes as they come off the truck and roll down the conveyor. When the truck is empty the pallets are moved to the floor in the general area of the specific products on the pallet. Then teams of about 3 or 4 start opening boxes and putting the merchandise in the proper location. Special teams usually work the clothing area. One of my areas were domestics with the towels, home furnishings and extensive peg hook areas like cosmetics. All the overstock gets put on vehicles and taken to the storeroom while all the cardboard and other packing material is taken to the bailer and compactor. It usually is an 8 hour night though it can be less with a
"small" truck of longer if a "big" truck or the occasional 2 trucks near the holidays. Education
