• As a scanning clerk I was producing digital copies of documents for filing purposes, responsible for organizing scanned documents on various local and network storage devices.
Document Control Clerk, March 2007 – December 2012 American Medical Technologies – Gordian Medical, Irvine, CA
• I was responsible for collecting patients’ medical records, Dr’s orders signature while I was also ensuring their accuracy, quality and integrity in the process. I was taking the responsibility to safeguard information and retrieve data effectively (applying HIPPA rules and company guidelines) always protecting patient’s proprietary records.
• I was on charge of the Final Disposition Master List – requesting and collecting additional documents (patient’s medical records and Dr’s signatures) from managers of nurses and Medical Facilities to respond urgent Audit Requests.

• Maintain the RDL’s Excel report daily, review and fix claims that were not processed correctly in Appeals CRM – prior to creating the excel list to be distributed to the staff (RDL doublecheck) by the Appeals Lead. Double check the staffs’ completed work and report discrepancies to Appeals Lead and Appeals Assistant Manager.
• Assist in creating and updating training tools for Appeals procedures to be used for new staff members and current members (created to provide help and assist with re-training to reduce errors if needed) and assist in team building efforts and offer support to the team.
• Distribute work to clerks, work closely with the Appeals Lead in regards RDL's and QIC's to be distributed to members. Perform the final check for completed assignments – including performing the research and final corrections (if needed).
• Manage appeal notifications and inform management of any claims that are close to our deadline for filling appeal and of any claims that are delinquent in being processed by Medicare.
• Work with I.T Appeals Coordinator to ensure that outgoing Appeal CD ROMS are viable and confirm their receipt via email communication with CGS/Noridian representative when available.
• Prep all levels of Appeal (1st and 2nd level Appeals) – analyze to determine which claims are appealable for batching – this includes review of claim appealable codes via My Ability. Manage Appeals timelines, resources and deliverables.
• Maintain dashboard of monthly appeals information.
• Create custom reports from Appeals CRM or from outside sources for management including the Appeals PIPELINE Report.
• Assist with clerical duties and special projects when needed or requested by Appeals manager or Assistant Manager.
• Support Appeals Assistant Manager for prioritize pending work to be completed on time and give results about Reports and assignments completed.
• Show proficiency in the following programs: Sage Pro CRM, Laserfiche (digital document library), Medicare Remit Easy Print, My ability network, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
