Served as a nursing assistant in the Emergency Department at Dilkon Medical Center, assisting
the nurses and providers with interpretation, patient care while maintaining confidentiality of
all priveleged information. Duties included interpretation in Navajo of the health teachings and
instructions given by nurses and providers to patients using knowledge of medical terminology,
anatomy and physiology. Stocked supplies needed in various carts, cleaning and sorting
supplies, instruments, and equipment; calling attention to deficiencies in supplies and
equipment. Provides patient care under supervision, obtaining vital signs. Performs and obtains
tests and procedures such as EKGs, cardiac monitoring lead placements, weights/heights, point
of care waived tests (rapid flu, HgbAIC, glucose reading, hemoglobin, UA, HCG, etc)
