Working in Central Doc Prep has really expanded my knowledge on consumer lending. We work with all of First Financial Bank loan officers and assistants across Texas from the start of the loan through closing. The loan types we process consist of purchases, interim constructions, HELOCs, home equity’s, home improvements and refinances. I primarily communicate through phone and Microsoft Office email. My job functions include building the processing file in adobe, pulling the credit report, flood determination, rate sheet and CADs. I order and review appraisals, title work, surveys, verification of employments and payoff statements. I work closely with our Consumer Analyst team who underwrites the loan & calculates the DTI by gathering and adding required income documents This job is fast paced, and we are challenged daily as we are in and out of several files & have to remain organized and accurate. I am currently lead in-house mortgage processor and began training new employees and reviewing the files before closing as well.

Mortgage Loan Assistant

In this position, I was an assistant to two loan officers. I assisted customers in their homebuying process from start to the finish. Once they were preapproved to purchase a home and they were under contract, I took the file from there. I collected necessary documents needed, ordered the appraisal, title work, verification of employments, tax transcripts and fraud reports. I then submitted the file to the investor and worked back and forth with an underwriter to get the file cleared for closing. I was in constant communication with the customers, realtors, title companies, appraisers, and underwriters. I had to multi-task daily as we had several files at a time, all in different stages of the process.
