Domonic Ricks as the kid, brings a strong voice, a likable personality and some tapping feet to the role. He's a youngster who wants to follow a family tradition of being in show biz, over the strong objections of his lawyer father. A show-stopping, applause-winning moment came when Domonic dreams his grandfather, an old-time hoofer, comes back to show him how. Harold Cotton may have silver hair around a shining dome, but he taps his feet like a kid himself. The two share one of the show's great moments.
