EXPERIENCE
Coast Community Health Center Bandon, Port Orford Or 2024
Staff Pharmacist
This was a part time role as a staff pharmacist in a community health care center on a fill in basis. The owner and my direct supervisor, Mr. Smith, staffs many retail and hospital locations throughout southern Oregon. In this position, my job was to get up to speed and provide high quality pharmaceutical services to clients and manage the staff. A very nice atmosphere was provided to work within and I was able to see a pharmacy perform quite happily again under my direct supervision. The system and workflow seemed intuitive, as if little to no training was required. The entire facility Staff was pleased with my performance and eagerly recruited me to work but does not currently have enough work to provide enough shifts for me to stay in that capacity. I enjoyed this job.
Corner Drug Gold Beach OR 2023-2024
PIC
Four months of intensive training for the entire crew. Taught them everything they didn’t know about their own workflow; restarted vaccination program, organized and cleaned up compliance, staff training, addressed multiple issues with point of sale and customer relations. Ultimately, caught up cues including the robot by week four, an extra 2000 prescriptions compared to average 2 months. Took this pharmacy from “Come back tomorrow” to “15 minutes and would you like any vaccinations?”
I encountered a ‘lack of desire for improvement of processes’ from important staff members and realized I just couldn’t do it without the support.
