I am a nuclear engineering graduate student with a background in mechanical engineering. I plan to leverage my mechanical skills, along with my understanding of nuclear materials and manufacturing, to excel in my chosen career.
Education and Certifications
●M.Eng. Nuclear Engineering, University of California - Berkeley August 2023-May 2024
oGPA: 3.9
●B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, California State Polytechnic University of Pomona August 2020-May 2023
oGPA: 3.8 - Graduated summa cum laude
●EIT License - Mechanical Engineering
Projects
Roller Coaster Design Senior Project, Cal Poly Pomona January 2022-December 2022
●Designed a rollercoaster track switching system for a senior project using Solidworks. Performed stress analysis using NASTRAN and verifying with hand calculation methods.
●Used Solidworks to estimate masses and inertia values to make an informed decision on the selection of a motor.
High Entropy Alloy Design from Theory to Realization, UC Berkeley September 2023-May 2024
●Designed a viable high entropy alloy for nuclear applications, manufactured it using an arc melter and evaluated its mechanical, corrosion, microscopic, and irradiation properties.
●Prepared samples for electron microscopy.
●Heightened team performance by resolving conflicts with teammates in ways that satisfied all parties.
Machine Design Project, Cal Poly Pomona August 2022-December 2022
●Designed and built a small CNC milling machine for a class project. Used Solidworks to design over fifty parts and plan how they would fit together. Working on another machine in my free time. Also supervised the finite element analysis portion in NASTRAN.
Work Experience
Program Engineer - Ingels Engineering April 2022-July 2023
●Used Solidworks to design parts and processes for production on CNC mills.
●Increased throughput by using theoretical models of the process to calculate how much more efficient I could make it. Through clever programming, I was able to increase throughput on one process by 300%.
●Decreased programming time by writing programs using Solidworks CAM instead of manually.
Technologies and Languages
●Languages: MatLab (Intermediate), Fortran (Advanced Beginner), C++ (Beginner), C# (Beginner,)
●Technologies: Solidworks (4+ years experience), Solidworks CAM, Microsoft Office, MCNP, Mastercam
Taught a class on the use of Solidworks CAM for my Machine Design class.
●Other: Have given 7+ presentations on a variety of engineering topics, worked with 5+ teams to deliver on school projects.
