Chicago Public Schools – Ira Aldridge Elementary, Chicago,IL 6th-8th Science/Math Educator 2018 to Present
Implement CCSS and NGSS-aligned science/STEM curriculum to teach 6th-8th grade students. Integrate engineering design standards and the iterative process in STEM projects, elevating student engagement, creativity, and problem-solving skills.. Collaborate with the Field Museum to facilitate student teams to tackle pressing environmental challenges affecting their local community. This partnership helped 7th-8th grade students design and build an expansive 3D model of their community where they presented their vision to key stakeholders from CTA Redline, Chalkbeat, the Sun Times, and NPR. Their vision included increasing economic development, public art, equitable transit options, and curated green spaces in Altgeld Gardens. Key Achievements:
