Reads the files from Azure data lake and loads into Azure Data warehouse (Raw Schema).

It is custom code – i.e PolyBase is a tool built in with SQL Server 2016 and Azure SQL Data Warehouse that allows us to query data from outside files stored in Azure Blob Storage or Azure Data Lake Store. Once we define a file type within SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), we can simply insert data from the file into a structured external table.

IFRS 9 is an International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) promulgated by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). An impairment staging solution is required for bridging data delivery between TD and KPMG gCLAS (proposed IFRS 9 impairment solution). IFRS 9 Staging will use an ETL process for all intake data from TD sources. IFRS 9 staging will cleanse, perform existing business

transformation rules and prepare the data for loading into KPMG gCLAS. KPMG gCLAS will calculate expected credit losses, manage stage migration and provide quantitative disclosures / reporting and provide projected cash flow measures under IFRS 9.

European Parliament and Council adopted the Regulation on credit rating agencies. As per the Regulation, a new requirement for ESMA is to establish a “European Rating Platform (ERP)” to publish individual credit rating information in connections with credit ratings and ratings outlooks, issued by CRAs (Credit Rating Agency).

For this purpose, CRAs will submit rating information, including the credit rating and rating outlook of the rated instrument, information on the type of credit rating, the type of rating action, and date and hour of publication in the form of XML files.

This project deals with the upgrading of the existing EDW solution of STC to empower the organization with business intelligence capabilities to harvest knowledge from disparate data sources to enable the business to make strategic decisions in a timely manner. Data model is upgraded from cLDM7 to cLDM12 and the ETL is upgraded to Ab Initio from Data stage.
