PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in the Spring of 2022 with a focus on US History. I learned how to write historiography papers that involved extensive research of primary and secondary sources including books, peer reviewed journals, newspapers, oral histories, and pictures. I wrote more than ten historiographies on topics involving immigration, labor reform and the Mexican American community. I also wrote more than 5 book reviews that enhanced my writing and analytical skills. I learned how to write annotated bibliographies and how to conduct oral interviews. As a tutor I learned how to come up with unique lessons curated for each student depending on their learning style and skill level. Although I don’t have experience as a College Professor, I do have experience in the classroom and in education. I also took courses in college that required extensive research for projects that taught me advanced research techniques.

ACADEMIC/NOTABLE PROJECTS
Capstone Project: My final project or thesis involved writing a 75–100-page book about a moment in US History that resonated with me. I chose to write about the inter-ethnic relations between African Americans and Mexican immigrants in Los Angeles County during the 1970s. This topic involved scouring over 30 secondary sources like books and scholarly journals and over 10 primary sources like newspapers, documents, and oral histories to supplement my research. I interviewed my parents since they were teens in that era and used their oral histories to enrich the project with a personal touch.
Women’s History Museum Project: While attending community college, I took a course in US Women’s History where my final project involved me working with a team to come up with our own women’s history museum. My group came up with a museum centered on the women of the 1920s where we designed the layout of the museum as well as the exhibits. We had to present our project in front of the class where we discussed what exhibits would be included and why and also had to discuss the history behind each exhibit.
