Prek Teacher

Hello, my name is Kaitlyn Gerkin and I’m currently a 22 year old female from Orange County, California. I just moved out to San Antonio, Texas this January! I currently work as a PreK teacher at ThePREP, in Stone Oak, where I interact with and shape the lives of children ages 3-5! My passion was to become a Pediatric Nurse and be able to give kids, and their families, my love and support with their health struggles. However, I decided to keep exploring passions along my young and new journey here in San Antonio. My at home life is very complex at the moment so I’ve been looking for a full time hybrid job where I can still work from home and give support to my little one, but I also have the time to go into the office and help where I'm needed often. After looking into this position and the company website I realized that the this is exactly where I want to be!

I’m extremely interested in working for your company for MANY reasons. This company allows me to still be able to continue a passion of mine and feel at home while doing so. It also allows me to be able to further advance my planning and organizational skills. I get a thrill when I get to interact with many while planning or setting up events. It encourages me to make everything the best it can be to ensure the happiness and professionalism of others. It’s somewhere I want to always be and to be able to combine more than one passion of mine for would would be all things amazing.

In high school I was class president and always involved in school activities whether it be a luncheon or a big prep rally. Having to coordinate events isn’t easy, but I’ve gotten a head start by having to plan HUGE carnivals and weddings with vendors, games, booths, you name it. Being able to plan events off of budgets is a huge deal! Cash handling and negotiations are great skills I have that would play a huge role in this position. My outgoing and personable personality make planning and communication many of my favorite things to do when it comes to working. Communication is a major factor when it comes to planning any event wether it’s big or small. With out proper communication with your staff and customers nothing will flourish. Especially when that’s my favorite part of planning.. I’m a natural leader and go getter. This has been a passion of mine for the longest time and to be able to share my skills with such a wonderful and powerful organization would be a dream of a life time
